Reduced Blood Clotting
Decreased clotting caused by fish oil can be dangerous if taking blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, warfarin or clopidogrel. Those with bleeding disorders such as hemophilia may find their condition exacerbated. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, fish oil should not be taken with any blood-thinning medications unless under the supervision of a physician.
